Peppersprouts
Home goods inspired by nature
Peppersprouts began in 2008 as a creative outlet while I was working as a graphic designer in NYC. I had been searching for a set of coasters to match my style, but I couldn't find anything I loved. So I illustrated my own and sent them off to be laser cut. I shared them online and soon had emails from people nationwide wanting to purchase a set. So, I opened a shop on the brand new website Etsy. My home decor items have been featured in various magazines, including Real Simple and Martha Stewart, and have been sold in shops worldwide.

Design like a lady
A hybrid history & art activity book for middle-grade readers
Design Like a Lady was created as my MFA thesis project. This book shares the lives and work of ten remarkable women of our design past and present to inspire the budding designers and artists of our future. Inside you’ll find the stories I’ve researched and written, along with curated design portfolios of each lady working in every facet of design, including illustration, advertising, interactive, packaging, and even furniture design. In addition, each designer is paired with a real-world design project that young artists and budding designers can complete right inside the book — no fancy computer software required. I am actively seeking publication for this work, so a small sample is showcased below.
A visual exploration of the death of my mother
A series of digital and traditional collages
When I was five years old, a drunk driver killed my mother. That moment became part of my story—a story I recently decided to tell as a visual communicator. I spent time combing through mementos, family photos, and boxes of trinkets belonging to my mom to find the source material that would lead to a series of exploratory works. As I went through these memories, I found myself mourning the moments of mother and daughter bonding that never were. So, I created a series of digital collages that act as a fantasy scrapbook. These collages mix family ephemera and humor to tackle issues that I still think about as an adult—my first period, lack of family belonging, and beauty ideals.
As part of the series, I stepped away from the computer to create a paper collage based on a photo of my mom when she was five.
I collected magazines published during my mother's childhood and cut out advertisements of automobiles, alcohol, cigarettes, and war stories. From far away, you see a portrait, and when you get up close, all the details tell another story, one that isn't fun to talk about, but it is my story.

You are Beautiful
A series of experimental screen prints
Compliments are supposed to make a person feel good about themselves. However, sometimes they come paired with a less than complimentary qualifier. These backhanded compliments turn a gesture of kindness into one of bitterness and spite.
The series of work I created, explores the way women are often addressed, by men and mean girls alike. Using blush, eyeshadow, and foundation as typographic treatments that are blown away to reveal the way we should see ourselves—no matter what.
Bear Brook Bakery
An extra sweet brand makeover.
Bear Brook Bakery is a luxury cake designer on the Maine Coast. Operating for eight years without a logo, the company entrusted me to create a brand identity that matched the artistry of their culinary confections. I worked with Melissa, the owner of Bear Brook, to determine her goals for her brand, her ideal client, and how her current brand was holding her back.
I created a complete brand identity, style guide, and custom stationery and cake-tasting cards for her clients. New copy was written to position her as the luxury confectionary she already is, and her photography was curated to create a seamless brand style across all platforms. The rebrand positioned the baker as a luxury experience, allowing her to increase her revenue 2x.
John Robshaw
A luxury textile designer gets a romantic refresh.
John Robshaw is a global furniture, textile, and bedding business that wanted to revamp its wholesale catalog for the year's upcoming trade shows. Working with Isocurve, I was on set for three days styling and art directing the product photography for the 2007's fall and 2008's spring wholesale catalog.
To echo the handmade beauty of the textiles in the catalog, I brought in vintage elements like aged tape, print-making blocks, and vintage photo borders which allowed floating photos to feel like they were pinned on the wall of John's studio. As part of the catalog makeover, I consulted with the client and helped transform their SKU system into a more manageable system for the company and their wholesale accounts saving valuable catalog space and allowing products to have a bit of breathing room. This change increased purchases from retailers and decreased the number of inaccurate order forms the company previously encountered.
Once the catalog was designed, I spent two days at the printer, Color checking each spread for color accuracy against fabric samples.
The Chatty Press
Luxury wedding invitations for creative couples.
The Chatty Press is my award-winning stationery studio—telling love stories through paper. I work directly with creative couples illustrating and designing non-traditional wedding invitations and custom event stationery. Each design starts with a personal interview, and from there, I create a mood board and series of concept sketches to fit their story and personal style. The Chatty Press has been featured in the major wedding blogs — Green Wedding Shoes, Style Me Pretty, 100 Layer Cake, and national and regional publications — The Knot, Real Simple, and Seacoast Bride. I was also a Louie Award finalist in 2020 and chosen for Best in Boston in 2019.
Interactive Wall Concept
Bringing the night sky to life with projection mapping.
The night sky interactive wall is a prototype for a large-scale interactive space. I set out to bring together my illustration work, the desire to make things by hand, and a technology I was excited to explore. I illustrated and animated seven animal constellations and created an interactive touch board with conductive ink. Through creative coding, mad mapper, and an Aurdino board, I crafted an interactive art piece that would delight kids of all ages.
